avocado soap is made with fresh avocado pulp, oats, organic aloe vera, and

the soaps you find made with real pumpkin--or simply scented with
synthetic pumpkin spice fragrance oil? Why add artificial
ingredients to a natural product?
Our seasonal Pumpkin Spice soap is
made with real pumpkin and marbled with ground cinnamon, nutmeg and
cloves. This naturally orange soap, colored by pumpkin pulp and
natural carrot juice, is loaded with beta-carotene.

At
Chagrin Valley Soap & Craft we believe in the nutritional benefits
associated with the All Natural ingredients in Ida's Handcrafted
Soap. We believe that All Natural products are milder, healthier,
and gentler on the skin.

Some soap
companies list wonderful, beneficial ingredients in their soaps. But a
beneficial ingredient can offer little benefit if it is only present in minute
amounts.

We do not skimp on
the quality or quantity of ingredients used in our bars.
We have seen
companies that sell Dead Sea or Rhassoul Clay soaps that are
almost white in color. Dead Sea Mud is a deep, dark, slate
grey color and Rhassoul a deep brown.

Many soap
companies add beneficial botanicals and herbs to their soaps.
Botanicals and Herbs add texture, color, and often have great skin care
benefits. But again, a beneficial ingredient can offer little
benefit if it is only present in minute amounts.

At Chagrin Valley
Soap we also use herbs and botanicals for texture and color.
But we also want our soaps and shampoos to provide your skin
with the most benefit from these natural additives as possible.
That is why many of our soaps are made with infused oils.
We take a generous helping of beneficial botanicals and herbs
and slowly infuse them into our soapmaking oils.

Some soap
companies use synthetic fragrance oils.
|
Fragrance oils, perfume
oils, and nature identical oils
are all ways of saying nothing more than
synthetic perfume.
These synthetic oils are a major cause of
skin
irritation and skin sensitivities for many people.

Do not be
fooled by a fragrance that has a botanical sounding name--it does not mean it came from a plant.

Scents
like cucumber melon, raspberry, coconut, cantaloupe, strawberry, apple, or peach,
are synthetic potions created in a lab to smell like a specific fruit, flower,
or food.

Other than the citrus oils, there are no “fruit” essential oils.
These
scents are chemicals,
combined and refined to be long
lasting and strong.

Many
soap companies make statements like "scented with lemongrass and
sage essential oils." But do they list all of their ingredients?
Often times these essential oils are mixed with fragrance oils for
a stronger scent. Many soaps supposedly containing jasmine,
rose, lemon verbena, and sandalwood are also made with synthetic
scents because their real counterparts are very expensive.

Our soap making process uses only natural ingredients. There are no
artificial fragrances.
Why add artificial
ingredients to a natural product?
Although synthetic fragrances or "nature identical" oils are available in
a wider selection and at a much lower cost,
our
scented soaps contain only pure
plant essential oils from natures
finest botanicals, NOT a synthetic fragrance oil or a natural fragrance copy.
We do not used a high concentration of essential oils in our
soaps.
Our soaps and shampoo bars are gently scented--this is not the
overpowering scent of synthetic fragrance oils.

companies use dyes, crayons, or synthetic colorants.

The colors in
Ida’s Handcrafted Soap come from spices, juices, teas, herb infused oils, and other
natural ingredients that can be found in your food pantry.

wholesome, handmade products!

The
science of soap making lies in the selection of the base oils
and butters used to create each recipe.
Individual oils and special oil blends lend unique properties to the finished soap.
At Chagrin Valley Soap a great deal of time
and experimentation has gone into finding
just the right mixtures of oils and butters to create our fabulous
soaps and shampoos.
A simple all natural soap can be made using
inexpensive oils only, such as palm and coconut. Our recipes are meticulously developed to produce a
mild, rich, soothing soap that feels creamy in your hands,
offers a magnificent long-lasting lather, and leaves your skin
and hair feeling clean, soft, silky, and radiantly healthy.
Our bars are enriched with natural emollients such as
Shea, Mango, Avocado, and Cocoa Butters.

Compare the finished weights of
other soaps.
|

When our homemade
soap is removed from the mold it is cut, weighed, and allowed to
cure for 6-8 weeks. Some soap companies use this initial
"wet" weight on their labels. But as the soap cures, water
evaporates, leaving a substantially lighter bar.
